The Government of Belize has continued advancing its public procurement modernization agenda through the implementation of the national procurement portal, a digital platform designed to centralize tender opportunities, supplier registration, and contract award information. While the Belize Procurement Unit was established in 2017, the portal itself appears to have been launched recently, around 2024–2025, as part of broader efforts to improve transparency, efficiency, and public access to procurement information.
The platform also supports Belize’s participation in regional transparency initiatives, including the CARICOM Public Procurement Notice Board, and aims to facilitate greater participation from suppliers and SMEs in government contracting opportunities. The portal currently publishes active procurement notices and bidding opportunities from different public entities, reflecting Belize’s ongoing digital transformation in public procurement management.
