Meeting the commitments established in the last Annual Conference of Santo Domingo and in order to continue supporting and strengthening the exchange of experiences among member RICG countries, who share common needs and challenges, the Government of Panama, through the General Directorate on Public Procurement (DGCP), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), joined efforts to organize the South America Sub-regional Workshop, to be held in Panama City on September 10, 2012 at the Hotel RIU Plaza.
The goal of this sub regional workshop is to share experiences developed around a common interest in the region for the analysis of the needs of each country guided by international experts.
Topics for discussion are as follows:
The development of capabilities and certification/accreditation in public procurement
Government procurement and SMEs Savings calculations and the efficiency of public procurement
An ecosystem for the professionalization of public procurement: training, certification, and accreditation.
