The Seminar dedicated to Consumption, Citizenship, and Sustainability was organized by the Program on Consumption and Market Studies of the UDP, the Responsible Citizen Foundation, and Consumers International.
The Seminar’s main objective reflects the challenges for sustainable consumption in Chile. The first panel concentrated over the concept sustainable consumption per se; how consumption is defined, and what is referred to as sustainable consumption. The second panel centralized over the challenges and steps for an education in sustainable consumption in Chile. In conclusion, the third panel dedicated itself towards the newly approached theme of the dissemination of responsible consumption: Public procurement and its parallel role to the consumer.
The program targets those that work on the subject of sustainable consumption, including academics, public policy makers, NGOs, and the general public.
