First edition of the Presentation of the award “Innovation in Government Procurement”

The award was presented to the Department of Logistics and General Services of Brazil for the high impact of their initiative in the region. An honorable mention was also given to the Chilean Office of Public Procurement and Contracting. 
With the goal in mind of contributing to the improvement of the national systems of government procurement, the Inter-American Network on Public Procurement (INGP), through the IDRC and the IDB, handed the award of Innovation to the Department of Logistics and General Services of the Office of Logistics and Information Technology, Ministry of Planning, Organization, and Management of Brazil for the high impact on government procurement in the region, with their initiative Sustainable Public Procurement. 
Ben Petrazzini of the INGP handed the award to the Director of the Department of Logistics and General Services, Mr. Alexandre Quaresma. 
An honorable Mention was given to the Office of Public Procurement and Contracting of Chile and its Director, Mrs. Trinidad Inostroza, for its project Administration of electronic contracts in public market. The award was presented by the Executive President of the Superior Organization of State Contracting of Peru, Mrs. Magali Rojas. 
This edition included the nomination of 5 projects presented by the following countries: 
1. Brazil: Sustainable Public Procurement. 
2. Chile: Administration of electronic contracts in public market. 
3. Costa Rica: Implementation of framework agreements. 
4. Mexico: Implementation of new acquisition models of the Government Procurement System. 
5. Mexico: Implementation of an electronic procurement system including business intelligence functionalities
