Open Call - Consultant to support the development of the Regional Online Platform for Sustainable Public Procurement, Ecolabelling and VSS in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Inter American Network on Government Procurement through the Organization of American States (OAS), and UNEP are seeking a part-time consultant (home-based) for a period of 6 months to collect materials and resources that will feed into an online platform aimed at facilitating the joint implementation of SPP, ecolabelling and voluntary sustainability standards (VSS) in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. The website will help stakeholders in the region implementing or strengthening SPP, ecolabelling, and VSS schemes by bringing together into one place relevant documents for policy-makers, procurers, other relevant practitioners and businesses in the region that need tools and guidance on SPP, ecolabels and VSS. 

The platform will a be a one-stop web resource, interactive and user-friendly that will address the needs of the identified users in the region. The regional online platform on implementation/strengthening of SPP, ecolabelling and VSS is a joint collaboration project between UNEP and the Inter American Network on Government Procurement (INGP) led by the Organization of American States (OAS). The project will contribute to the implementation of activities within the UNEP-managed and European Commission-funded project on “Stimulating the demand and supply of sustainable products through Sustainable Public Procurement and Ecolabelling” (SPPEL). It will also notably contribute to the SPP initiatives implemented by the Organization of American States (OAS), in particular the project “Sustainable Public Procurement: A Tool for Greening the Economy” which is carried out within the framework of the Inter-American Network on Government Procurement (INGP) by the Organization of American States (OAS), the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
